After seven years studying and working at DICE, Dr Simon Tollington will sadly be leaving us in April to begin his new job as a Conservation Scientist at Chester Zoo. He will be responsible for research project management, facilitating and supporting research activities across several major field projects, overseeing students and ultimately working to apply evidence-based approaches to conservation challenges.
Simon completed his PhD on endangered bird populations in Mauritius at DICE in 2012 and has since become a Lecturer in Conservation Biology. He has really enjoyed his time at DICE and wishes to extend particular thanks to Jim Groombridge and Richard Griffiths. He hopes to continue collaborations with the department and promises to come back and visit us! Simon has been a very familiar face around the department and will be sorely missed by students and staff alike. We wish him all the best in his future career.
