The School has been involved in many events over the last few months drawing staff and students together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University and showcasing some of the excellent research being undertaken within the School. Many of us also enjoyed the music and fireworks at the Festival Weekend, the staff BBQ, the Kent Wheel, the inflatable obstacle course and posing for the photo above … can you spot any SAC staff??
Housekeeping – a little reminder
Please can all staff and students ensure that all lights are turned off when you leave at the end of the day – we particularly draw your attention to student study rooms, lecture rooms, the Swingland Room and the Stirling Library. Would staff also ensure, when leaving a lecturing space, that tables and chairs are arranged in the standard lecture format, the computer logged off and the projector turned off using the control panel on the wall (please don’t turn off the computer or attempt to power down the projector using the power switches).
Funding available for your studies
The School is always exceptionally successful in winning scholarship competitions with research councils and other funders. If you are considering undertaking a PhD commencing in September 2016 then make sure you keep an eye on our Scholarships webpage – we are already advertising a number of scholarship competitions!
Additionally, the University will be updating its full range of Scholarships in the coming months. There are many funding opportunities available for Master’s and PhD level study as well as discounts of alumni, so take a look.
